Advancements in digital pre-press and platemaking had a great impact in delivery of quality and consistency in flexo printing. Today, flexo is a highly acceptable mode for any kind of packaging requirement — flexible or rigid.”
He added that with the demand increasing, suppliers are gearing up with high-end technologies. Flexo plate-makers have realised that to remain in the game, digital plate-making is the way forward. “Digital plate-making also ultimately comes out to be more economical due to less wastage and no negatives required. Over the past three-four years, we’ve seen a very clear trend amongst existing flexo plate trade shops moving towards digital setup. Also, new green field setups have come up in industrial zones to be able to serve local customers quickly,” he added.
