Fespa invites global entries for Awards 2014

Fespa has announced the entries open for Fespa Awards 2014. Marking it's 30th anniversary in 2014, Fespa has incorporated new categories for the awards and is summoning entries from printers across the globe, unshackling itself from being an 'only member community' awards.

This initiative, according to Fespa, will earn it the title of being the only independent global print competition.

Fespa awards has, in the previous editions, received phenomenal participation from the Indian print firms, summing to about one third of the total entries in the previous year.  "India, as a print nation, performed very well at the 2013 Fespa awards. The quality of print from India is testament to the quality of the whole market, which has developed immensely in recent years to compete with established international printers," said Duncan MacOwan, head of events at Fespa.

Begining 2014 awards, Fespa will publish the technical specifications of the winning entries, facilitating reference and recognition.

The organiser reckons screen printing to be a likely feature of the Indian entries at the 2014 awards. "Screen printing is a reflection of the craftsmanship and the quality of education available in the Indian print market. We expect to see more digital entries from India in 2014 as this is the area that has seen the greatest change in technology," added MacOwan.
