Food Processing Technologies introduces automation solutions

Food Processing Technologies introduced its BluePrint Automation (BPA) packaging automation solutions during PackEx 2017, held from 21 to 23 August 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. BPA specialises in secondary packaging and manufactures case and tray packing solutions for flexible and other tough-to-handle packages, such as doypacks, pillow bags and four-sided sealed bags, using different packing technologies including gravity, pick and place and vision guided robotics.

For the frozen goods industry or heavier products like shredded cheese and sugar, which are packed horizontally in the cartons, gravity technology is often a preferred solution. BPA’s MGC & RGP gravity case packing lines are dedicated for this application and can pack these products up to 150 bags per minute.

For many other products, like snacks, confectionery, pet food, ice creams, dry foods like cereals or liquids in doypacks, BPA uses vision guided robotics and pick and place technology. With these technologies, BPA packs products standing up or lying down, even on the same machine, with one single flavour or multi-flavour in different packing patterns. Depending on the product and packaging type speeds up to 300 bags/min on a pick and place machine or 180 bags/min with one single delta robot can be achieved. The delta robot is modular and therefore expandable to achieve a higher capacity.
