Forecasts from Amila Singhvi, Siva Raja and Mahesh Karthik
PrintWeek India’s Rahul Kumar asked a simple question to three industry leaders: What do you think about a show like Drupa? Still relevant for India?, Business

We will look at large format digital, rigid box machines and cost effective variable data printing at Drupa. Most of our business partners will be showcasing newer and improved versions of existing technologies. We will look at everything with an open mind.
Amila Singhvi, International Print O Pac
Print as its lowest ebb. I expect something that will revolutionise the process. Indian printers to travel to Drupa should seek the unpredictable. A couple of Drupas ago, we spotted UV curing technology which we deployed on our web offset Regioman press. Our response time has come to five hours from five days and we got more premiums from our advertisers. What Drupa helped our team with, was how the UV implementation could be complete with the press, since the chemicals, blankets and printing inks play a major role. Since then, we could manage UV curing at the speed of more than 80,000 impressions an hour in our Mumbai plant.

Drupa, for me, is not the once-in-four-years excuse to have a European vacation, as I have heard some printers say. I always look forward to the show, since most of ‘what’s next’ from exhibitors debut at Drupa. Thankfully, today, they have brought Drupa closer home to us, instead of us flying to Dusseldorf. I caught most of the big events of last Drupa on Youtube. It went a long way in helping us choose some of our investments.
