Suneet Jain, CEO, Galgo, said, “While our logo and identity have changed, our dedication to delivering trusted quality remains unwavering. Our journey has been nothing short of championing innovation in the fine paper industry. A new era of paper is upon us.”
The arrow in the logo symbolises the company’s path, from its inception to how far Galgo has come today, with a global presence. The company was founded in 1970 as it started as a small paper trading house, sourcing from domestic mills.
In 1999, Galgo entered the publication grade sector, supplying newsprint to leading publishers worldwide. In 2000, it introduced fine paper to India and in 2001 it secured representation for Central National Europe and a part of the Central National Gottesman Group (USA).
In 2004, Galgo obtained representation for Cellmark Paper while 2008 was the year of the association with J Vilaseca, Spain, for high-grade special paper selling.
The company became FSC-certified in 2019 and expanded to specialty paper in 2011. In 2016, Galgo introduced another range of rough gloss paper in India, ‘Glode’. The year 2019 consisted of the kappa and packaging boards and in 2020, Galgo introduced a revolutionary concept to India — 100% flushable wipes.
Currently, Galgo has around 10 distributors and about 1,000 customers in the country.
The new logo explains that Galgo is true to its core values and simultaneously remains open to growing and adapting to customers’ needs. This new chapter in Galgo’s path includes the unveiling of new products in its portfolio such as specialty/ solution-based paper and packaging papers, made to support sustainability desires.
