Viper was specially manufactured a year before for Nike to personalise their various merchandise like shoes with logos, name etc. Gandy Digital has now decided to make this machine commercially available world-wide. It has a build platform of 2x2x1 ft with 20 Ricoh Gen4 print heads. It utilises a 600mm x 600mm print area and jig. The jig is interchangeable and mounted to the print plates producing perfect registration every time.
According to Chandan Mishra of Gandy Digital, “The machine does not generate large amount of heat and can be safely used in printing on heat sensitive materials for applications like 3-D printing, printing on a film, photo album books with acrylic material etc.” The machine is equipped with LED UV ink curing system to improve print resolution and clarity and has a resolution of 720x900 dpi. The machine has a laser controlled head height censoring that eliminates the risk of expensive head strikes, nozzle damage and down time.
Viper can be used for several industrial applications like printing helmets, personalised shoe, tennis ball, key chains, iphone covers and several many other items with a height of 12 inches (300 mm) or less. Mishra also added, “This machine is suitable for industry people who are into personalisation services, gifting companies and branding communication business that can conceptualise and sell a product.”
