A new Gandy Gladi8tor UV flatbed printer at Fespa

Chandan Mishra, representing Gandy Digital in India, said, “It’s a cross over platform, particularly useful for those customers who have medium volume range but need faster productivity."

 

Gladi8tor is a semi-automatic system, capable of printing a 6x10ft panel in less than 90 seconds. The semi-automatic loading system ensures productivity of 500-600 panels a day, claims Mishra. “Gandy Digital has, in the last four years, moved from being a single-platform wide-format printer manufacturer to a four-printer product mix. Gladi8tor is an upgrade of our previous models, Pred8tor and Domin8tor.”

 

The other kit in Gandy portfolio is Sla8te.

 

In India, Gandy has two Pred8tor units installed at Sign Wave in Pune and Colourmate Digital in New Delhi. The company has also installed its earlier Jeti range of flatbed printers at Xedon Media, Coimbatore, and Creatique Espore in Delhi.

 

Among the advantages of the new system, Mishra said, is the dot placement. Mishra claims that Gladi8tor is fitted with Gandy’s industry-only pre-aligned vertical head assembly called the blade system, which provides one with the perfect ‘x’ and ‘y’ dot placement. “This, along with variable dot and the new formulated inks from our OEM ink supplier, makes these system capable of producing the highest quality with very high productivity. The system, engineered to make the printer wi-fi enabled and the reduced electronics, makes it least maintenance required system.”

 

Mishra also informed that Gandy is poised to launch another kit, Fastina8or, a 5M high-resolution roll-to-roll solution with LED curing. “It’s coming, soon,” he said.
