In doing so, it will double capacity and offer Excel Print Plus special grade of paper for top-end commercial print firms.

Sheetal Mehta, the managing director of Garnett Specialty Paper says the firms will unveil the Excel Print Plus in mid-August. Also in the pipeline is special grades of Ecoline and Libretto for book binding.

The Excel Print Plus is a premium superfine paper and will be “made in India” from one of the most respected mills in the world. Commenting on the range of fine papers and binding material from Garnett, Mehta said, "Garnett has more than two centuries of history of very high quality paper and an intimate knowledge of print applications, so we've applied those two competences together and created a really nice product for the Indian market."

The Garnett factory in Vapi is capable of producing 15,000 TPA specialty paper making and converting business. Mehta expects this number to double in 12 months due to the “increased demand potential in India”.

In those days, we exported to 36 countries."  With the growing demand for paper in India, the company’s focus has shifted to the sub-continent with "50% local consumption of paper".

While spending time at Garnett’s 1,25,000 sq/ft unit, Mehta showcased an ultra stylish range of new finely crafted designer paper product swatches. This included the following grades:
