Girish Agarwaal to deliver keynote address at Show & Tell
Girish Agarwaal, the promoter director of DB Corp (DBCL), will deliver the keynote address during the inaugural edition of Show & Tell organised by PrintWeek. To be held on 2 December from 10 am to 1 pm at Sofitel in Mumbai, the event is a stepping stone for the next-gen of brand managers, designers and packaging technologists. The speakers with their presentations hope to promote the clout of print and packaging.

Agarwaal has been on the DBCL board since October 1995. With more than 24 years of experience in the publishing business, Agarwaal heads the marketing and related operations at DBCL. He is also an active member of Indian Newspaper Society (INS). He holds the distinction of being the youngest chairman of INS for Madhya Pradesh region. He has also been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year, for the year 2006 in the Media and Entertainment category by Ernst & Young. He is also the recipient of the Outstanding Entrepreneur in Asia Pacific Entrepreneur Awards.
Under Agarwaal’s guidance, the Dainik Bhaskar Group initiated various innovative marketing strategies and successfully launched campaigns like Zidd Karo Duniya Badlo, Dainik Bhaskar Bihar Doosra and several other 360 degrees initiatives which were lauded at the industry’s highest platforms like the Abbys, ICMA and The Economic Times Shark Awards.
The launch story of Dainik Divya Marathi, the Marathi language newspaper of the group has been presented as a case study by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, as a highly successful launch. It was also featured in the Harvard Business Review (HBR). Similarly, Rajasthan (1996) and Gujarat (2003) launch stories too became a subject of case study in the Mudra Institute of Mass Communication and the IIM, Ahmedabad. The Gujarat edition won the coveted Marico Foundation Innovation award for Business Process in 2005. The initial launches of the group have been chronicled in a book, Making Breakthrough Innovation Happen, by Marico innovation Foundation.
PrintWeek highlighted the Bihar launch of Dainik Bhaskar in a feature titled How Dainik Bhaskar bucked circulation trends in Bihar.
Along with other print stalwarts, Agarwaal tailored and led the campaign ‘Print Media is Growing’. He aggressively evangelised the power of the print medium through presentations and roadshows across the country.
During Show & Tell, representatives from leading print and packaging firms such as Parksons Packaging, Printmann Group, TCPL, Trigon Digital Solutions, Manohar Packaging, Spectrum Scan including 18 firms will shed light on new ways of producing things and how they have created a benchmark in the Indian print and packaging industry, through innovation.
