Globalocal Talk for publishers during NDWBF on 13 January
In 2016, the New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) arrives early, in January, a break from its usual date in February, and so does Globalocal Talk, a forum designed for publishing and allied industries, organised by the German Book Office, New Delhi, the South Asia node of the Frankfurt Book Fair.

The book fair, touted to be Asia’s largest book fair, will be held from 9 to 17 January 2016.
The Globalocal Talk 2016, to be organised during NDWBF, will highlight interesting rights territories like France, the UK, China, Germany and India. Speakers from these markets will offer an in-depth analysis and updates on their markets, both print and digital, along with guidance on how to successfully buy and sell rights in their territories.
The event will be held on Wednesday, 13 January 2016, at Seminar hall, 1st Floor, Hall 7, Pragati Maidan from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
The session will also have insights into providing top tips on how to successfully contract rights. Experts from Ingram will also help the attendees demystify the global distribution strategy for publishers. All these make Globalocal Talk 2016, a must-attend event for publishers and editors, rights managers, literary agents, international business development managers and export managers.
“Through the Globalocal Talk 2016, we endeavour to understand what is the future of the rights trade in a world of globalised content and what are the opportunities unfolding in mature markets of Europe as well as popular markets like China,” said Prashasti Rastogi, director, German Book Office, New Delhi. “Markets vary around the world - books that don’t find ground in home markets may be hugely popular in others. Translation rights and territory rights throw an opportunity to re-energise the life of a book by finding new readers.”
Rastogi said the German Book Office New Delhi presents Globalocal Talks as a forum for engaging with new trends in the trade. “It brings together the most impressing ‘doers’ from the trade to present their ideas and experiences. Since, ideas are the most powerful tools people have, this is an endeavour to present these ideas and stimulate conversations on the changing face of the content industry,” she said.
Globalocal started out in 2009 as a roundtable bringing together key decision makers from print and publishing to exchange ideas. Since then it has evolved into an annual B2B convention designed for the publishing and allied industries, to exchange, explore new business opportunities, learn and network. In 2015, German Book Office organised the 6th edition of this event from 12-13 February 2015 at Eros Hotel in New Delhi.
