GMG launches ColorProof 5.5
Germany-based GMG has launched ColorProof 5.5, which is an updated version of its proofing software GMG ColorProof 5.0.

The new version of the software is said to have undergone an extensive rebuild to improve user interface speed. Also, the new version has automatic alert feature, which is used to alert administrator when attention is required for various purpose like load paper, calibrate a printer, or fix a job error.
Afsal Kottal, business director, percept print solutions, said “Many of the new GMG ColorProof 5.5 features are in response to customer requests for greater performance and usability.”
Kottal added that, “Customers working with packaging will benefit from the enhanced handling of white ink and transparent areas when proofing on foil, along with enhanced integration with GMG OpenColor. And, GMG DotProof users will find a much sharper dot along with GMG ColorProof’s accurate color.”
Other ColorProof features like white profiling for proofing of transparent and white packages and improved Roland cutting option for Roland printers has been added to assist with packaging jobs and prototypes.
Kottal informed that, “GMG has stopped support for version 5.0 and below”. To ensure smooth transition Kottal said, “All our existing clients are requested to upgrade to latest version to ensure smooth working on the software.” GMG ColorProof 5.5 will be available in India through GMG distribution channels from 18 July 2013 onwards.
