Grafica’s live special effects demo garners footfall and orders
“Selling machine in an exhibition like PrintPack India was the prime motive long ago for machinery manufacturers or suppliers, but now printers want to know what else can be done on a screen printing machine,” said Hanish Mehta, general manager for sales and marketing at Grafica Flextronica, the Vasai-based manufacturer of screen printing and allied machinery.

He reasoned that screen printing process plays a complementary role in enhancing the offset printed commercial and packaging jobs.
At the show, which largely attracts commercial, graphics, packaging printers, Grafica has been trying to educate visitors on the luxury applications of screen printing. Two samples being produced during these days exhibitions – Taj Mahaj line artwork printed on offset was being given 3D reflective effective and tikki (crystal UV); and a colourless sweet box printed with white UV, crystal, glitter on a silver metalised paper gave the product a luxury effect. “With these live demos, we could prove what Nano series machines and cylinder press with the attachment of UV can do,” said Mehta.
Grafica also signed orders for a dozen Nano-series machines and half a dozen CamShell presses. “Interestingly Grafica has received several bookings from its existing Nano-print or Nano-print plus customers which not only proves their confidence in brand Grafica but also their confidence in screen printing business,” said Mehta.
