Computer Graphics, which was founded in 1991, has been involved in pre-press graphic designing before becoming the first CTP facility in the city and subsequently entering the digital printing space in 2008. The company also has another pre-press bureau at Thiruvalla in Kerala.

“We started our digital printing operations in 2008 with a Konica Minolta LD 6500 and have been scouring the market for the next generation (digital) press which would suit our requirement and to increase our output capacity to one lakh copies per day,” said Alex Cherian, proprietor of Computer Graphics.

The Konica Minolta C8000 delivers 1200x1200dpi at eight bit full colour resolution and is capable of 80 A4 impressions per minute. The press’s most unique feature is the capability to print on paper thickness of upto 350 GSM and also several inline finishing and post-press capabilities.

“We looked at several alternatives at the Ipex India show and narrowed down to the C8000 because of its impressive capabilities and our earlier happy association with them,” said Cherian.

Speaking about the installation Vasudevan S R, regional head of Monotech Systems said, “The C8000 has been well received by the market in the last year and we have been able to record 15 installations all over India so far this year and have a further 10 orders in hand.”

The machine was inaugurated by the home minster of Kerala, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan on the 14th of April 2012 at their Kottayam premise.
