Any Graphics ready for any challenge
We have discussed the importance of innovation in these pages often, and no other print firm exemplifies this more than Noida-based Any Graphics, who, from a humble beginning, has carved a niche for itself in innovative product design, be it Fresnel Lens packaging, natural feel effect on mono cartons or labels, an extra fifth panel for a mono carton or velvet finish or even combination of various print processes.

A mid-size packaging firm, which converted three lakh pieces of mono cartons last year, Any Graphics recently invested in a Heidelberg XL75 seven-colour with UV and coater. There is more, including an Emmeci rigid box-making machine and a Bobst Novacut die-cutter and a Bobst Vision Fold folder-gluer. With this, now the company hopes to produce 5-6 lakh mono cartons every day.
Besides, with the Heidelberg seven-colour press, which has some nifty customisation, the company hopes to create a new kind of opportunity, such as FDA approved food packaging, premium liquor packaging, high end cosmetics and perfumery, finer print quality, the ability to add a strong hint of opaque white, and able to print on virtually any substrate.
“After much research, we were convinced that the Heidelberg was the best press and the correct size for packaging which suited our requirements,” Kuldip Goel, managing director, Any Graphics explains. “It has double circumference impression cylinders, the registration is perfect and controls are better. With its efficiency, we hope to create new kind of opportunities.”
Investments apart, what makes Any Graphics stand out in the competition is its ability to provide value addition to its customers. “When I started out, I learned quickly that to be successful, you need to be unique. My priority has been to provide value edition to my customers and not do any mass replication of a process which has already been carried out elsewhere,” Goel adds.
At Any Graphics, this is achieved through smart use of technology available and skills acquired. The company has the machines and has the manpower to use these machines to its full potential. What sets them apart is the company’s unique post-press process, which involves natural feel effect, raised printing thick UV coatings on thin fonts, hot foil stampings and online die-cutting as a simple embellishment. These are printed on multicolour web letterpress in combination with roll-to-roll screen printing.
Thus, besides investing in technology, the company has also invested heavily on skilled manpower, who are professionally equipped to provide solutions and to suggest customers on products, which can benefit their applications and requirements. Add to that the innovative ideas of the management, and you have a facility, which is the best in the country by any standard.
The company’s new state-of-the-art, fully air-conditioned and dust free manufacturing plant is spread over 1.25-lakh sq/ft area and it is equipped with fully automatic setup, latest and best inline machines for all the three key areas, pre-press, press and post-press, which are manned by 250 full-time staff. Its in-house design and pre-press studio, fully automated production lines and combination of various print technologies make the setup unique from the industry.
According to Goel, in the end, good equipment is important to achieve innovation. “In the last four years, we have invested more than Rs 70 crore in machinery and infrastructure. This year alone, we have invested Rs 30 crore,” he concludes.
