Gururatna award conferred upon Anand Limaye
Anand Limaye, head of India Printing Works, Yash Enterprise and Technoserve Corporation, was honoured at a felicitation event on 14 July, 2013, which was graced by the ex-chief minister of Maharashtra, Ashok Chavan. Limaye received the Dr Shankarravaji Chavan Gururatna Puraskar 2013 for his contribution to the Indian printing industry.

The two-time president of Mumbai Mudrak Sangh and three-time president of Maharashtra Mudran Parishad, is elated to have received the award, though, it isn’t the first time he has won an award. Limaye has many awards to his credit, including twice from All India Federation of Master Printers.
Over the years, Limaye has been actively involved in social work and takes keen interest in resolving challenges faced by the printing industry. Some of the initiatives taken by Limaye have been, the Mumbai Mudrak Sangh’s ‘At Your Door Step’ roadshow, wherein he tried to resolve multiple issues and difficulties encountered by print industry. He also ensured that the printing related software is made available to the print firms at reasonable rates through the scheme – Be legal-be safe.
An elated Limaye talking to PrintWeek India, reiterated his vision of promoting the MMP Institute of Printing Technology Institute (MMPIPTI). “I have always nourished this dream of starting a graduate course in printing and having achieved it, I shall pursue my other dream, that of starting a management course in printing,” he said. Limaye has served as the chairman of the MMPIPTI for the last five years, which conducts a graduate degree course, B.E. in Printing Technology, recognised by Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
The event was hosted by Maharashtra State Marathi Patrakar Sangh, Nanded; newspaper Samiksha; and Manthan Blood Donor Group. Nine other individuals from different sections were also felicitated for their social work activities during the event.
Later on the same day, Limaye inaugurated a library, Gyan Key, which is managed by Shree Saraswati Shikshan Sanstha at Malegoan. Speaking on the occasion, Limaye, said, “Library is a treasure of knowledge. Students should make use of it to the fullest."
