BS Satish of Eureka Machinery, the Indian distributor, said, “Hans Gronhi's acquisition enhances the product range on offer and opens up exciting new opportunities for us to develop an established product with a longstanding user base.”

Shinohara, a Japanese printing press manufacturer has been acquired by Hans-Gronhi Graphic Technology, a Chinese offset printing press manufacturing company. This move succeeded Shinohara's declaration of bankruptcy last year. The acquisition brings overall control on Shinohara’s business and assets; plus a shift of manufacturing operations from Japan to China.

The acquisition provides a platform for Hans Gronhi to enter into the half-size sheetfed offset segment and is therefore one of the key attractions at the booth, where two Shinohara machines are presented - a four-colour 79-IV-H and a four-colour 66 IV-H with perfecting.

Satish added, “After the achievements with B3 format presses we are excited about the expertise Shinohara will bring in the B2 and B1 format presses.”

In recent years, much of Shinohara’s sales volume has been in the China market, and Hans Gronhi has chosen to retain some of the Japanese company’s brand equity in the country by retaining the Shinohara branding for the larger format and more sophisticated presses, including its successful B3 press.
