Presenting PrintWeek India Ninth Anniversary issue
The first issue of PrintWeek India was published on 16 May 2008. Nine eventful years down the line, on 16 May, we closed a massive 200-plus-page issue, to celebrate the Ninth Anniversary of PrintWeek India, your favourite magazine on graphic arts industry, in style.

While closing the Ninth Anniversary issue, the PrintWeek India team members were in different corners of the world. Rushikesh Aravkar was at Interpack in Dusseldorf, Rahul Kumar and Noel D’Cunha were at Beijing for China Print, while Dibyajyoti Sarma from Delhi, Sriraam Selvam from Chennai and Priya Raju from Mumbai all pitched in to close the issue.
So what do we have for you for our anniversary?
The highlight of the issue, clearly, is the special focus on 111 print firms, which we compiled exclusively for the issue. Coupled with it, we also have a big interview with Kirit Modi, chairman and managing director, Horizon Packs and the president of the Indian Corrugated Case Manufacturers Association (ICCMA), discussing paper supply disruptions and emphasising on the need for smart investments, trained manpower, and best practices.
Ramu Ramanathan, the group editor at PrintWeek India, meanwhile, met up with Heidelberg’s Klaus Nielsen and discussed the future of print, the impact of GST and Rajnikanth films.
Recently, ABC released the latest circulation figures of Indian newspapers, which revealed a healthy trend bucking the global trend, powered by the growth of regional language newspapers, especially Hindi. We put a spotlight on the development.
Then we have dispatches from the major shows held in May — Interpack in Dusseldorf, Fespa in Hamburg and China Print in Beijing.
We also lost four print stalwarts recently — Abhijit Pandit, Bansi Lal Arora, Julius Santi and Ramesh Agarwal. We pay our tributes.
In Print History, Murali Ranganathan digs into the archives to expose the early initiatives to incorporate photography into print in Bombay.
In other features, PrintWeek India gets design professionals in India to talk about their recent favourite packaging designs; and Harish Gupta of Haryana-based Sai Com Codes explains how PP50 Silver substrate offers ease in conversion and increased aesthetic appeal to the labels in the Me and My section.
