Rajiv Bhargava of HBD Packaging, said, “We were looking for a folder-gluer and DGM became our ultimate choice this time because of its performance due to its built-in features as compared to the top brands in the market.”
Bhargava said the company did thorough investigation and analysis for its jobs runability in the DGM demo centre to reach the expected performance and results, as the company already has six folder gluers from two-three brands. “After installation of the machine, we achieved better performance than expected and DGM India supported us well. We are satisfied with the performance of the machine,” he said.
He added that the company will add more machines in the future, as most of the company’s jobs are with innovation and it can rely on this folder-gluer for those innovations.
HBD Packaging has invested approximately Rs 6-crore in the last 18 months in various equipment to maintain its expansion and growth. These include an Autoprint Checkmate 50, Shanhe high speed flute laminator with Flip-flop stacker along with the DGM folder-gluer. “We are growing and expanding. Our next step is to separate our corrugation plant into an approximately 40,000-sqft area. The existing plant will be dedicated to mono cartons and some other type of packaging,” said Bhargava.
The company’s new multi-colour RMGT 970 seven colour printing press will be installed by March 2023. More equipment will be installed after the press installation to complete the line. “Packaging of every kind is growing at a fast pace, especially after the pandemic. We are working to grab those opportunities,” Bhargava said. “We are hopeful of achieving 35-40% growth in this financial year and achieving the magical milestone of Rs 100-crore.”
Punnet Agarwal of DGM Automation India, said, “DGM is world’s largest folder-gluer manufacturer, and has all available options and features in comparison to any other brand available in the market at a justified cost. Our machines perform well to clients’ expectations, especially on innovation, features and production. We are happy to have HBD with us.”
Established in 1985, HBD Packaging is a family-owned business and is run by four third-generation printers — Rajiv and his wife Seema Bhargava and Neeraj and his wife Ritu Bhargava. The Greater Noida-based company converts around 700 tonnes paperboard and 150 tonnes of kraft per month for its mono cartons and corrugation business. Recently, HBD added a 50,000-sq ft constructed area to its facility and now has a complete constructed area of 132,000-sqft.
