"The machine owes its demand to its flexibility, superior print quality, consistency, quick turnaround time and economical running job," said Umang Singhal, product manager, HCL. Singhal added: "We hope to sell two machines per month and also to penetrate the eastern market where printers have been observed to have low acceptance for new machines."
The C8000 can be equipped with KM’s workflow solution or Creo, which according to Singhal is considered to have the most automation and the highest productivity available. "The demand for Creo workflow solution is higher," added Singhal.
Out of a total of eight bizhub C8000 installations in India, six installations are done by HCL. And HCL expects to increase the number to 15 by March 2012.
"We have witnessed a great demand for the C8000. We are looking forward to selling 50 C8000 and up to 400 print production machines by March 2012," said Raju Iyyer, general manager for sales and marketing of Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, the manufacturer of KM presses.
The Japanese manufacturer made its direct entry early this year.
