Hyderabad-based Pravesha Industries has bought India’s 100th 10-colour Gallus ECS 340 narrow web flexo press while Mumbai-based Parksons Packaging has invested in Heidelberg’s 350th press in India. This Heidelberg CX-102 six-colour press is Parksons’ third Heidelberg press in the last two years.

Both the machines will be installed in the first week of April.

Sameer Patkar of Gallus India said, "Gallus started its journey in India with the installation of its first machine at Super Labels in 1998. Since then the company has spread its reach with 100 installations pan India."

Klaus Bachstein, chief executive officer, Gallus Group said, “India has always been an important market for Gallus. The EM 280 was popular machine among Indian label converters. The valuable inputs derived from our conversations with several Indian customers in terms of reducing the web path and quick changeover times have been incorporated in the ECS 340.”

Speaking exclusively to PrintWeek India, B Sivaprasad Reddy, chairman, Pravesha, said, “The investment in our first narrow web flexo press is inline with the group policy of backward integration for its parent pharma company. The new Gallus will help us with printing challenging value-added jobs.”

With Gallus being a subsidiary of Heidelberg, the event marked merging of sales and service of the two companies. So, from 1 April 2016, Gallus will operate from the Heidelberg India office located in Mumbai.
