Ashokan Krishnamoorthy, deputy general manager for pre-press solutions, Heidelberg India, commented, “Sivakasi is 'Home' to Heidelberg. You can find Heidelberg machines in every nook and corner of this wonderful town. Pre-press being a pivotal aspect for both commercial and packaging printing clients, we believe the seminar will impart immense value to the participants.”
The event was a promotional campaign by Heidelberg India to promote its pre-press solution, Prinect workflow. Speaking on the promotional campaign, Krishnamoorthy added, “In the current scenario print buyers are most demanding and to cater to their needs, printers spend considerable time on pre-press for correction, imposition, editing and colour correction. But, with Heidelberg's Prinect workflow systems, the tasks can be simplified.”
The seminar was followed by a two-day training session on pre-press solutions at the same venue. The interactive session had participants create their own pre-press files with the help of Heidelberg’s Prinect workflow. Heidelberg experts expounded on pre-press tools and options, including the creation of qualified PDF, imposition, integration, colour correction, trapping and coating etc. Demos on various tools related to packaging workflow were also shown to the printers.
Mohammed Rafi of Olympic Prints, one of the participants in the seminar quoted, “The training was informative and insightful. In our line of business, last-minute corrections and pagination changes from the client's side are inevitable, but with the Prinect’s PDF tool box, we can perform miracles outright”.
Ganesh Kumar, senior sales manager of Heidelberg stated “We have a firm footprint in Sivakasi with a strong base of pre-press, press and post-press installations. The Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 press powers businesses at the Sivakasi printing cluster, a central-government-aided facility to help any player in the industry execute print jobs at a nominal charge”.
Srinivas Fine Arts, Safire Prints, Gupta Printers, Bell Printers, Kaliswari Fireworks, Lakshmi Priya Offset, Shanmuga Offset, Jayaram Cards and Orient lithographers were a few companies among the list of attendees.
