Heidelberg India in alliance with Sree Maruthi Printers organised an open house on 31 August (Friday) in Coimbatore at which a China assembled Heidelberg Speedmaster SM74 press was demonstrated live to the printers from across the country.
Highlighting the productivity of the press, Dr Thilak Kumar, managing director, Sree Maruthi Printers, said, “At an average, 50 jobs are produced and two million business cards are printed and delivered in a day.”
At the event, three makereadies with stock ranging from 125gsm to 350gsm were carried out to demonstrate short makeready times, high productivity and versatility of the press. One of the highlights of the demo was a 350gsm packaging job running at 15,000iph and within the next ten minutes, the press was producing a 150gsm commercial job.
After the open house, Heidelberg India also conducted a seminar titled as Hei Productivity i at Grand Regent Hotel on the same day.

Udo Fiebiger, regional business manager, Heidelberg Asia Pacific, presented the press solutions from Heidelberg, particularly the SM 74 offset press assembled in Heidelberg’s factory in China.

In the last session of the seminar, printers were exposed to various finance options available, enabling them to procure latest technologies.
