Heidelberg Innovation Week 2021 was all about staying ahead of the curve

Heidelberg has announced that its Innovation Week 2021, a virtual show with the theme – Always a step ahead – has been a success.

1,200 participants from across 92 countries logged in to view the virtual customer event broadcasted from the redesigned Print Media Center at the company’s Wiesloch-Walldorf site from October 13 to 15, 2021, where Heidelberg showcased its latest offset and digital technology for the commercial, packaging, and label market segments.

Heidelberg showed how it has taken digitalisation, one of the major industry trends, to the next level by incorporating the technology within its customer relationships by useful value-added services. “Heidelberg Plus is the new gateway to Heidelberg’s digital ecosystem, which customers can enter with a single login and access all of Heidelberg’s digital offerings. Future applications will make use of cloud technologies, IoT, Big Data, and AI to offer customers added value when it comes to running their companies,” the company representative said.

One of the highlights during the Innovation Week 2021 virtual show was the presentation of Prinect Print Shop Analytics. Heidelberg claimed that the “first cloud-based” Prinect app offered through Heidelberg Plus will become available to customers in course of the coming year. “This is a tool that enables users to determine the current performance of a print shop based on real-time data from the most important KPIs,” the company representative explained.

There were interesting reports on the experiences of various printers, who explained why they chose Heidelberg products and solutions and whether it was the right way to go. For example, Stefan Leonhardt and Maik Schäfer from WEIG Packaging reported on benefits Heidelberg subscription models had brought for them, while Kartonpack Nyrt gave a summary of the use of the new Speedmaster CX 104. sidoro Sánchez from Temps Impresores described his experiences with the Speedmaster XL 75. Marc Janssens from Drukkerij M. Janssens reported that the use of workflow automation with Prinect is also worthwhile for a medium-sized print shop.

For those who missed the Innovation Week or would like to see even more interesting video contributions, the new Heidelberg Media Library will be available from 25 October at heidelberg.com/videos. Check out the webinars, demos, tutorials and other customer reports on all Heidelberg products and services. Going forward, Heidelberg will publish new videos on its product successes on a regular basis. “ It's always worth taking a look,” concluded the Heidelberg representative.
