Heidelberg is upbeat after a good Drupa showing

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen (Heidelberg) held its annual general meeting (AGM) for the financial year 2023-24 on 25 July at the Congress Center Rosengarten in Mannheim, Germany.

In his first AGM as CEO, Jürgen Otto discussed Heidelberg's strategic plans, financial performance, and future goals. He stated, "I am convinced that we can and will create a good and successful future for Heidelberg." 

Otto also pointed out the company's stable financial position, with a net profit for the third consecutive year, and highlighted the strong order intake at the Drupa, setting a positive outlook for 2024-25.discussed Heidelberg's strategic plans, financial performance, and future goals. Heidelberg is currently implementing a growth strategy aimed at addressing escalating costs by placing emphasis on augmenting turnover and upholding cost discipline, particularly with regard to personnel expenditures. Heidelberg informed that its strategic initiatives involve leveraging its extensive international presence spanning 170 countries and expanding into burgeoning markets such as Asia, the USA, and emerging economies. 

Furthermore, Heidelberg is actively exploring collaborative opportunities to penetrate new sectors and broaden its value chain, with a specific focus on digital and packaging printing. Heidelberg's partnership with Canon announced during Drupa 2024 and the development of the broadmaster system is a step in that direction. 

Around 700 shareholders participated in the event, representing approximately 27.5% of Heidelberg's share capital. They voted on nine out of ten agenda items, including the election of three new members to the supervisory board. Li Li (a supervisory board member since 2019), Karin Dohm, and Jeppe Frandsen were elected, with strong support from the shareholders. The terms of office for Dr Fritz Oesterle and Li Li ended, and Ferdinand Rüesch resigned from the supervisory board.
