Stating that, PrintWeek India is doing a great job of promoting print pan-India, Heidelberg’s general manager for sales, Peter Rego, said, “The extensive coverage is attracting higher, active and enthusiastic participation from printers across the country. We expect B, C and D cities to benefit from this initiative that inspires efficient and excellent printing practices.”
Rego added Heidelberg continues to set new benchmarks in innovation and technology that support its core mission to inspire, build and promote a culture of printing excellence. “The objectives of PrintWeek India Awards resonate well this those of Heidelberg.”
Among Heidelberg’s new R&D initiate is the Simply Smart concept, which Rego says, has taken print quality, automation and makeready times to a whole new level. “The idea is to make smart machines which can think for themselves and in the process get 50%-100% and more productivity on one new Heidelberg machine when compared to any other machines, especially in short runs.”
The Simply Smart concept’s elements involve features like Multicolor, Push to Stop, Anicolor, Wallscreen XL 2, Multidrive, Inpress Control, among others, which Rego said, “are becoming popular in the industry”. Rego added, “It is time to think smart and not hard by installing one new Heidelberg press which is capable of giving you the output or productivity of 1.5-2 new machines from others.”
For Heidelberg India, 2017 has begun well, with the company closing deals for over 80 printing units since April. “Overall, FY 17 has been a good year for Heidelberg India, and is getting better with each passing day. The last six months once again have been great for business where the large and organised print houses investing in high quality, latest technology and highly productive new Heidelberg presses with the '1 for 1.5-2 value’ concept,” concluded Rego.
