Fiebiger said, “Heidelberg is focused on packaging printing from 1986 and it is the only company which can provide solutions from pre-press to post-press. And different technologies like offset, flexo and digital under one umbrella. Colour corrections and registration are two crucial things and through new technologies you can do it very fast and with less manpower. After a period, you can see the how much you are saving on the machines.”
He further said, "Different substrates like metal, glass, plastic and wood are using for packaging nowadays. As per our study, offset market will be stable for packaging printing and it will grow. India and China will be the growing countries in the world and maximum part of the growth will come from these countries."
Rego concludes, "It shows the possibilities opened up by UV printing, highlights the advantages and disadvantages and shows the solutions Heidelberg is able to offer its customers. UV printing provides some excellent advantages like inks and coatings harden immediately, higher level of gloss, greater scratch resistance, very special feel, printing on non-absorptive materials, powder savings, print product can be finished immediately, environmentally compatible."
