Heidelberg’s Sivakasi seminar focuses on print innovations
Heidelberg India hosted a seminar along with the Sivakasi Master Printer Association (SMPA). Titled ‘Touch the future with Heidelberg’, the top team in Heidelberg addressed a gathering of 70 delegates.

At the seminar, Ganesh Kumar, senior sales manager at Heidelberg India spoke about the Drupa innovations and highlighted salient points in an automated press and the benefits of Anicolor press.
According to Kumar, compared to a press with conventional inking unit, the benefits of Anicolor can be summed up as "90:50:50" which means that Anicolor inking unit technology results in 90 percent less paper waste, 50 percent shorter makeready times, and 50 percent higher productivity.
He added, “With a shorter make-ready time, print buyers can walk-in with their jobs and get it printed within a short span of time (A-4 or A-3 sheets, in 10-15 minutes maximum) and pricing is very competitive with digital too.”
Later, Ashokan Krishnamoorthy, AGM – product management, pre-press at Heidelberg India, spoke about the importance of pre-press solutions for both commercial and packaging segment. He shared points about the patented IDS (Intelligent Diode System) without Suprasetter CTP systems.
During Drupa, Heidelberg, gave machine intelligence a new concept – Smart print shop. The Smart print shop will permit process optimisation and increase overall performance by integrating its digital and offset printing offerings, with the Prinect Press Centre donning the role of digital interface in the workflow.
The seminar concluded with a presentation about the Versafire and Polar Digi cut solutions (laser die cut from Polar) by Indukalpa Saikia, production manager - digital solutions and post-press at Heidelberg India.
