Heidelberg has 'strong order book' in Madurai and Sivakasi

The manufacturer reported rise in installations of new kit at Lovely Offset (CD 102-4) and Safire Offset Printers (CD102-4)

Besides new presses, the German-based print manufacturer is dominating the pre-owned equipment space as well. This includes installations of special configurations at: Lovely Offset Printers (SM102-4P); SFA Print (SM102-4P) and Olympic Prints in Madurai (SM52-4)

Last year, as per unofficial estimates from the Sivakasi Master printer's Association, the print hub saw 35 sheetfed presses in the city. This included: new and pre-owned presses. Some of it is, an upgrade of a model. This includes installations at Nadar Press (SM102-5+L); Chima Note Books (SM102-4P); Lakshmipriya Printers (SM102-5P) and Lovely Offset (CD74-6LYLX with a foil start and UV); plus Madurai's Arun Offset Printers (SM102-4P). These kit are through the second-hand dealer network.

Heidelberg's Gopalkrishnan Ramakrishnan said the installations are "a solid foundation for us print firms to start making healthy profit."

The print business has good news to report. Ramakrishnan stated, "A trend is, print firms specialising in printing on to plastics and metallised susbstrate. They have opted for a five-colour configuration, with coater and interdeck drying. The Heidelberg presses are adapted to handle wider range of substrates and offer range of value-addition." 

"The Sivakasi figures are pleasing in that we are heading in a positive direction and expect to further improve our performance," he said.

Heidelberg has two brand-new Varimatrix 105CS in the city; as print firms like Lovely and Bell are looking to diversify into packaging. Also are new Polar cutting machines and Stahls

In addition, Heidelberg is looking forward to two installations of CD 102-5+L at Unigraa Print Solutions and a Varimatrix at Pioneer Asia Packaging.
