Hemanta Kumar Mishra's book on print released
Hemanta Kumar Mishra's book titled, Printing Fundamentals: A student’s guide to printing technology was released by Vinod Vittoba, the director of APTech during the Print Business Outlook Conference 2025 on 3 February 2025 at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida on the sidelines of the PrintPack show. Mishra is the director (technical) retd. of the Directorate of Printing, Stationery & Publication, Government of Odisha.

Mishra has included key aspects of the printing technology to benefit the students, researchers, and industry personnel in the 22 chapters of the book. The topics include: graphic design, letter assembly, imagesetting, colour separation, image carrier, digital data for graphic design, digital image creation for graphic design, digital image assembly, digital image output, letterpress printing, planographic printing, flexographic printing, screen printing, gravure printing, digital printing, book binding, stationery binding, binding machines, packaging technology, finishing, paper, and ink. Also the book contains a chapter which provides questions with answers which cover all the above 22 chapters in the book.
A press note shared with PrintWeek said, "The book is prepared keeping in view the basic requirements of printing students in mind and all the chapters are written with simple language and diagrams for easy understanding and reference."
Hemanta Kumar Mishra has acquired in-depth knowledge and expertise in the field of printing technology. He has more than 35 years of active service and association in this field and served at strategic level positions including director (Technical) and principal, of the School of Printing & Allied Trades (SPAT), Government of Odisha. During his career as Director (Technical) for more than 19 years, he has modernised the government press with printing equipment and machines and mobilised human resources for the growth and development of the Odisha government press. He has earned a Diploma in Printing Technology, B Tech in Printing Technology, MBA, and MCA to his credit and a person with highest level of morale and ethical values.
