Herzog and Heymann (Hall 06/Stand A39) has launched M8 folding machine for label outserts in pharmaceuticals with a claim of it being the “world’s first folding machine with 18 pockets.”
Speaking to drupa report daily, CEO of the company Dirk Stuhmeier said: “It’s been four days since M8’s Drupa launch and we have already sold a machine. The machine is capable of creating 304 panels on the outserts, the highest by any manufacturer and is ideal for companies handling pharmaceutical folding or looking for a niche market.”
The inline machine configuration involves a continuous feeder, first folding unit with 18 folding pockets that lies at the heart of the machine and capable of handling widths of 35cm, 45cm and 52cm, a second folding unit with two folding pockets, two parallel knife folding units for the last fold in case of production of labeled outserts, labeling unit to close the folded products and a vertical delivery unit.
For quality control and continuous running of machine without any stoppage, the machine features HHS quality inspection system with two cameras (top and bottom) for reading of barcodes and datmatrix codes, and connected to a transfer unit with ejection capabilities.
“With this unit the faulty products will be ejected after they are detected by the HHS quality inspection system. This eliminates the dead time spent on the removal of non-conforming products, eventually increasing the output of the machine,” added Stuhmeier.
At Drupa, Herzog and Heymann are showcasing a range of new product launches targeted at the pharmaceuticals, direct mailing and packaging into pre-folded leaflets.
Herzog and Heymann has installed numerous machines worldwide, including 60 in India.
