Parag Shah of Hi Tech feels that the major trends he has spotted in the industry is automation, expensive labour, scarcity of skilled labour, high competition forcing printers to become more efficient and quality conscious. He also feels that although during Drupa he saw several companies attempting technology innovations and developments, the trend breaking technology is yet a bit far and at least three to five years away.
At Drupa, the company with its principals, had unveiled Kisun spot UV coater, Bacciottini creaser/folder, Tacho-Pur binding machine and Samed automatic hot glue back-to-back pasting machine. Few of these machines, along with several others manufactured by the company, are expected to make their appearance at PrintPack India 2013.
Shah believes that while the distance may cause a slight decline in the footfall, the quality of visitors would surge. He also notes that digital, transactional, wide format would grow faster. For offset, he feels while the run lengths are shortening the number of jobs are increasing.
