The hologram manufacturers have been asked by the department to provide polyester security hologram on liquor bottles.
“Jharkhand will be the 18th state across the country that will shortly making it mandatory for all the liquor companies to use hologram on their bottles to prevent counterfeiting,” said Pradip Shroff, president, HOMAI.
The mandated usage of hologram in various states has not only minimised the tragedies because of bogus liquor, but also substantially increased the excise revenue collection by more than 25-30 per cent.
HOMAI is a nonprofit organisation working to stimulate the understanding, adoption, use and widespread application of holographic technology since 1998.
