Howrah-based B K Roy commissions screen print equipment
A step ahead in its non-woven and plastic bag printing business, B K Roy of B K Roy Printers has commissioned a series of screen printing equipment from Thane-based Unitech, during the Screen Print India exhibition slated between 18-21 September.

The investment includes a 15x20-inch vertical lift screen printing press; Easiprint, an exposure unit; Autoexpose, and an automatic dryer; Fasdry.
For Roy, the investment means both; increased capacities and ease of process. "We have booked the machine during the Screen Print show. Once the machines are installed and in operation by November / December, we are looking at restructuring the operations. This also extends to adding manpower so as to cater to the increasie in capacity."
In a city, which is a hub of screen printing, according to Roy, automation is a key. "Every house in the city has a screen printing set up. With the current investment we will up our capacity from 1000 to 5000 prints each month."
The order was placed with Unitech, the Vasai-based manufacturer. It was a catalogue show for Unitech. According to Aashish Chavan, business developmet amanger, in the 12 years of its existence, the company has had 1150 installations across its 70 products. "Since the past four years we have entered the exports market and established a network of dealers across the country in Ludhiana, Tirpur, Bengaluru, Kolkatta and Pune."
