HP introduces new entrants to the Latex 300 and Designjet series

During its World Tour Media Summit held in Mumbai at the Grand Hyatt between , HP announced its product offering for the large-format print service providers. It introduced three models from the Latex 300 series and two printers from the Designjet series.

Under the Latex 300 series the company launched the 54-inch Latex 310, the 64-inch Latex 330 and Latex 360 printers. The three printers, according to HP, are designed to offer easy operation, cost efficiency and wider application range to the printers.

The L330 can print up to 538 sq/ft per hour while the L360 can print up to 978 sq/ft per hour. The five core features of the Latex 300 series highlighted were: one, the use of HP 831 Latex inks, which offer scratch resistance; two, the HP Latex optimiser; three, the use of 831 Latex printheads; four, the high-efficiency curing which results in lower power consumption; and five, the facility of media profiling on the machines.  

What followed is the introduction of the latest Designjet printers: D5800 production printer and Z6800 photo production printer. The D5800, which prints at speeds of up to 128 sqm per hour in fast mode and 24sqm per hour in the production mode, is according to HP, the fastest dye-based printer at the lowest running cost in this segment. The machine allows the users to produce high-quality backlit graphics, POS displays, roll-up banners and so on.

The Z6800 runs at a speed of 140 sqm per hour and at 20 sqm perhour in the high-quality mode. According to Mahesh Kumar Soni, country business manager - Design (GSB), "The Z6800 can produce results as close to 87% to the pantone shades."
