Barun Maiti, the owner of HS Laxmi Graphic, hailing from Midnapore in West Bengal started his print career with a print shop in Gujarat. He then went to Kolkata to start his own print business, providing print services to the sari and hosiery brands in the city, initially outsourcing the jobs to printer in Gujarat. He then decided to set up a print shop, which would not only ease the burden of outsourcing printing tasks, but also reduce the operating costs.

"I felt that shorter run jobs and variable jobs was increasing day by day and with cut throat competition and fixed deadlines, digital was the best way to move forward and set up base in this domain, said Maiti. He found a solution in the Bizhub C1085. “I was impressed with the print quality, high productivity and ability to perform high-volume operation in diverse formats.”

The CMYK Bizhub C1085 can print at a speed of up to 85 A4ppm with a maximum size of 330x488mm on stock weight range of 55-350gsm, and a monthly duty cycle of 2.80 lakh prints per month.

“Digitally printed sheet are growing and will continue to grow and no one can stop that. Most of the jobs these days are shifting from long runs to short runs with customer opting for variable data printing,” concluded Maiti.
