“TKS is the only web manufacturer which provides simultaneous printing system for two different outputs of printing production under the patent of Geminus,” said Satoshi Kaya, the general manager of overseas sales development at TKS.

Geminus was the reason why HT Media opted for the press, according to TKS.

The UDI Color Top presses are designed specifically for the Indian market “where the temperatures on the shopfloor are invariably high,” added Kaya.

The press configuration includes ten 4/4 colour towers, one folding unit and ten reel stands with speeds of 80,000cph, a web width of 1,400mm, cut-off size of 546mm and a 2:3:3 jaw folder.

This is HT Media’s second purchase at Drupa after opting for a hi tower and one folding former for its existing Colorman presses at it's facility in Greater Noida. The TKS Color Top 5100UDI will be shipped to India by the beginning of next year.

For TKS, this is the second Indian newspaper house to opt for its technology.

Mathrubhumi has already booked three orders for TKS machinery, of which, one machine is already under production at its Trivandrum site and the remaining two will be shipped to its production sites in Kochi and Calicut.
