“The step is a part of our strategy to diversify into new avenues,” said managing director, P J Jayakar. The 25-year old company, which specialises in manufacturing dry offset printing presses for the decoration of disposable plastics containers, has installed over 125 dry offset machines in India and overseas.
Hyden’s foray into label finishing segment is a brain child of industry veteran Sudhir Samant who will handle the sales and marketing for Hyden. “We have already installed first U350 at Mumbai-based Coats & Pack,” added Sudhir Samant.
The machine, which is capable of slitting and rewinding labelstock at 300m/min, is equipped with Venturi trim extractor for edge trim extraction. “This machine can be configured with a host of options. When equipped with inspection camera it can be converted to an inspection system. With various sensors it can perform label counting, flag detection and missing label detection machine,” said Jayakar.
The company is in process of developing various label finishing kit such as die-cutters and booklet makers under the guidance of Samant.
