The press was recently installed at KGN’s Gachibowli unit.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Asif Akther, managing director, KGN Xerox, said, “The performance of the first PageWide machine for CAD drawings and plotting over the last 12 months has been impressive.”

“So, when we saw a rise in demand for CAD drawings owing to boost in infrastructure projects in Gachibowli region, a new investment in PageWide made sense.”

The XL 5000 handles technical document production at speeds of up to 14 D/A1-size ppm. PageWide technology consists of more than 2,00,000 nozzles on a stationary print bar spanning the width of the page.

Akther said important factors in the choice of printer were the ease-of-use and accessibility of the PageWide machine. Two media drawers that allow for up to four media rolls, together with two sets of CMYK ink cartridges, enable uninterrupted printing.

KGN Xerox was established in 1985, when a civil engineer, Mohammed Akther, saw a market demand for A0 size jumbo drawings and invested in a Xerox 2510 plotter. Today, KGN has six strategically placed retail print outlets in Hyderabad.
