The news was broken by Apple CEO, Tim Cook on Twitter during his European tour. He visited both the forest and the paperboard mill of Iggesund Paperboard and the Holmen Group, the parent company.
"This has been secret for so many years. It's nice to get some cred when he came and greeted us after more than ten years of development work together," said Henrik Sjölund, CEO of Holmen group which is said to be supplying paperboard to Apple for almost a decade.
Speaking exclusively to PrintWeek India, Hema Java of CH Java & Company, Indian representatives of Iggesund said, "This news has created the rightful buzz in the packaging world and I can proudly tell you that Invercote from Iggesund is the largest premium SBS (Solid Bleached Sulphate) board brand in India with leading converters like Art-in-Art, Silverpoint, Pragati, TCPL, Avery Dennison, ITC-PPB using the product."
"Brands like Lupin, Hugo Boss, H&M, ITC, Taj to name a few have been favouring this product for years in India," Hema Java concluded.
