IIP to host training on plastic packaging in Bengaluru

The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), will be hosting a two-day training programme on the recent trends in plastic packaging on 19 November and 20 November, 2015 at the IIP, Bengaluru.

Dr NC Saha, director of IIP, said, “We are confident about two days programme, it will be of immense value to all working professionals in packaging industry including quality control and R&D team. The training programme will have all the updates about business related to packaging.”
 
On day one of the training programme, the key sessions will be conducted on developments in PET and PP blow container, developments in barrier resins for flexible packaging, developments in multilayer barrier film, packaging of tea and coffee, new developments in sustainable packaging, followed by developments in gravure printing technology.
 
Second day, the topics will focussed on bags and aseptic packaging systems, blow moulding of plastic containers, the usage of press fit vents for rigid packaging materials, the testing and evaluation of plastic films and laminates, the technological innovations in injection moulding technology, technological developments in plastics for food packaging and testing and evaluation of semi-rigid and rigid containers.
 
During the World Packaging Congress (WPC), held in Mumbai, Prof M M Shah, Padma Vibhushan winner from ICT, Mumbai, highlighted the importance of plastics and stated that, “The greatest invention in chemical technology has contributed to all-inclusive growth. If we take the overall cost of any other form of packaging, the resources it consumes, either in making or distributing are much higher. Plus plastics is sustainable.”
