When and why did you invest in the Ricoh Pro C7100 machine?

We invested in the Ricoh Pro C7100 machine in February 2016. We decided to enter the digital printing segment because the demand for shorter runs was on the rise. By bringing digital in-house, we can provide all solutions under one roof. We looked at similar machines and many samplings and demonstrations, before finalising this Ricoh kit. We were impressed by the excellent image quality and consistent print even on the long run jobs. The other factor was Ricoh’s service assurance.

What kind of applications do you print on the press?

With the present digital set-up we are able to deliver short-run requirements of our existing clients as well as new ones. At present we use the machine to print short-run manuals, brochures, visiting cards, offset proofs, parking stickers, customised greeting cards, transpromo prints, etc. We also use the prints for our in-house proofing of offset jobs.

How has the kit benefitted you?

With the Ricoh Pro C7100 we have been able to convince our existing clients to get their short-run requirements fulfilled, which they’d get done from elsewhere. Further, the digital solution now helps us to cater to every other customer who walks in for long or short-run jobs.

Are there any value additions, print job accomplishment and savings achieved with the machine?

Today, we can offer a variable data printing solution and also customise short-run jobs such as wedding cards and other jobs, which involves personalisation, etc. The machine’s paper feeding technoloyg has meant there’s no jamming and hence no wastage. No special training is required to run the machine.
