IndiaCorr 2018: Bobst to highlight range of flexo folder-gluers

Venugopal Menon, business director, Bobst India said, “ Many of the leading corrugated players in the last years have gone for modernisation, consolidation and adoption of the best in class European technologies for corrugated box making, whether it is in terms of automatic five-ply board line or inline FFG lines for printing and converting. Driving factors being to be more cost efficient, better quality and performance, JIT deliveries, short run lengths and increasing pressure for the boxes to perform better case erecting lines.  

The flexo folder-gluers (FFG) are Bobst's inline solutions for flexo printing and converting of the regular slotted containers (RSC) and or flat-trays or die-cut boxes for three- and five-ply corrugated board.

Bobst will shed light on FFG 820 Discover, FG 924 NT and FFG 1228 NT from its FFG range of machines. “The Bobst range of FFG’s ( FFG 820 ) is capable of doing the brown RSC boxes 1-2 and up to simple four-colour jobs which constitutes 90% of the corrugated boxes volume in the country. With the 924 / 1228 FFG range the scope goes beyond brown boxes RSC , it also enhances capacity for die-cut boxes, F&V and wrap around trays, high graphics print capability on coated liners and the multifold option which enables to produce between 50% to 100% more output with single sheet feed,” added Menon.

According to Bhavesh Pingle, business manager, Bobst India said, “Since last four to five years, the corrugation industry is going through an unprecedented change in the way a corrugated board is made and converted.”

“Bobst has made great strides in the corrugated board industry with more than a dozen installations in the last three to four years and another few more FFG lines coming up for installations in the coming months,” added Bhavesh.

Along with FFG, it will also highlight the flatbed die-cutter and offline folder gluers for corrugated boards and the high graphic sheet to sheet offline printing line solutions like Flexo Vision 1.6 for different applications for the food and FMCG segments among others.
