Top Indian book print firms at London Book Fair

So far, 17 top print firms are expected to set up stalls that will display the growth of the Indian print market and make it a hub for global book printing.

Major printing firms like  Ajanta Offset and Packaging, Brijbasi Art Press, Gopsons Papers, International Print–o– Pac, Jayant Printery, Manipal Technologies, MultiVista Global, Nutech Photolithographers, Replika Press, Repro India and the others such as Kalajyothi, Thomson Press and Lovely Offset are expected to confirm their participation soon.

“The event is going to be a launching pad for the book printers from India. Top Indian printers believe that this will be the turning point for book printers in India a big year for India, said Pramod Khera of Repro India.”

According to a Value Notes study the global publishing market in the english language was approximately USD $270 billion in 2008. This market consists of key segments such as scientific, technical, medical, humanities, legal, educational, newspapers, magazines, directories, corporate, financial, B2B and trade. The global educational publishing industry stood at approximately USD $22 billion in 2008.

The LBF 2011 has participation from countries such as Serbia, Iran, Iraq and Kuwait.

The last two book fairs were marred by natural disasters. In 2010 the volcanic ash cloud in Iceland restricted the air traffic into Europe while in the year 2011 it was the earthquake and following tsunami in Japan, which is one of the major participants. Therefore the response this year is predicted to be bigger and better.

LBF is the global bazaar for rights, negotiations and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels. The exhibitors in the fair come from all over the world and are spread across a large gamut of publishers, content providers, wholesalers, distributors and printers from across the globe.
