12 Indian manufactures win Pacmachine Awards 2017
Twelve Indian machine manufacturers were honoured during the Pacmachine Awards 2017. The award presentation ceremony was held on 28 October 2017 at Hotel Eros, New Delhi in concurrence with ‘Indiapack 2017’ and ‘International Summit for Packaging Industry (ISPI 2017)’.

The Pacmachine Awards was introduced by the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) in 1992 to recognise the achievements of packaging machinery sector and to promote their efforts. The main objective was to recognise the excellence with innovative concepts in design and development in packaging machinery particularly for import substitution and promoting exports.
This year, there were four categories, including Packaging Machinery, Packaging Conversion Machinery, Other Packaging Machinery and Supporting Packaging Machinery.
Ace Industries won the award for its two entries, co-pack solutions for modern trade and sleeve wrapper for long products.
Alpla India received the award for Alpla - Milacron bi-injection cube technology machine.
Electronic Devices Worldwide won the award for its capless induction sealer.
FAG Bearing India got the trophy for its auto shrink packaging machine for bulk packing of the ball bearing.
Hassia Packaging won the award for its Flexisachet Multilane forms fill and seal machines.
Impel Services received the award for its Case Sealer Machine.
Jyothy Laboratories got the award for auto banding machine for bundle packs (bar).
Mamata Machinery was awarded for pick fill seal machine model PFS 260.
Minipack Doughnut was awarded for its wrap for jumbo steel coils.
Signode India received the awards for six entries, namely, new generation integrated handling system; auto debander for strap cutting; laminated roll integrated packaging and handling system; automatic strapping with seal pad & label applicator; automatic cross strapping with angle; board and batten feeding and new age slit coil packaging system.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries won the award for its world first drop size testing machine for complex eye and optic products.
Vyoma Innovus received the award for its pick and place (PnP) packaging machine with product traceability System.
An eminent Jury team from government bodies, reputed institutions and industry judged the entries. The Jury members included Dr NC Saha, director, IIP; Prof Nitin Gulhane, head, department of mechanical engineering, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai; Prof Kannan N Iyer, mechanical engineering division, IIT Mumbai; Abhay Bhargava, renowned consultant; and Dr MM Bhoomkar, associate professor, PVG’s College of Engineering & Technology, Pune.
The Jury members assessed and evaluated the entries based on various presentations made by the companies on 1 and 2 September 2017 at IIP, Mumbai.
