Delivering his keynote address, Ramesh Kejriwal of Parksons Packaging said, “The knowledge of offset printing remains the backbone of folding carton manufacturing. At the moment, India manufactures approximately 2.5 million tonnes. This will grow to four million tonnes by 2020.”
Kejriwal said that Parksons Packaging converts 6,500 MT of board per month. “A team of 60 marketing executives guarantees optimum utilisation of the Parksons plants. Go where the market is. Anything beyond 400-km radius between client and manufacturing plant may make it unviable, 60% of investment in plant machinery is printing equipment, so unpardonable not to sweat your print equipment,” he added.
Venugopal Menon, business director of Bobst India shared with the 150-member audience what customer expectations are and said, “One reason why MetPet caught the imagination of brands was because of its anti-counterfeiting ability.”
Fujifilm had a presentation at the seminar, while Ankit Tanna of Printmann shared the journey of his company from commercial printing to packaging and said, “The ROI on quality is goodwill and customer satisfaction.”
Dr Rajendrakumar Anayath addressed the challenges in training students for packaging. Vaidy of Suba Solutions had run through the suite of products the Chennai headquartered company represents in India.
