Industry stalwart K L Shroff is no more
K L Shroff was one of the stalwarts of the Indian print industry, respected and revered throughout the industry. Under Shroff’s tutelage All India Federation of Master Printers blossomed and became a more representative organisation during his presidencies (1988-89 and 1992-93).

Shroff’s crowning glory was Nu Tech Photolithographers which he set up in 1971 after realising the potential of the print market. Shroff didn’t come from a printing background and entered the space at the insistence of his cousins, who were trading in printing material in 1966. Armed with an undaunted will to overcome hurdles, hard work and a vision to accomplish his dream Shroff established one of the biggest print firms in India. Throughout his career he was involved in the development of the Indian print industry.
With K L Shroff’s demise the Indian print fraternity is a little bit poorer, but his legacy and Nutech will be carried forward by his three sons Ashok Shroff, Jatinder Shroff and Ravi Shroff who look after Nutech’s securities and label division, paper and paperboard division and comercial and book printing division respectively.
K L Shroff passed away on 14 December, 2013.
