The webinar themed “Enhancing Project Profitability through Technology” lasted 90 minutes and aimed to address the primary challenges on identifying, procuring and implementing an organisation-wide enterprise solution. The webinar was presented by an industry expert from Infor and moderated by Printweek India.
Noel D'cunha, deputy editor of Printweek India said, "We are hopeful that this initiative helps debunk several myths which holds back our printers from investing in an ERP and aide them to achieve strategic results by leveraging such solutions for decision support."
The hour long presentation from Infor experts dealt with key concerns that every print organisation faces in terms of functional capabilities, implementation methodology, performance indicators and Return on Investment (RoI) timelines.
The presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session which generated tremendous enthusiasm from the participants with the presenter flooded with questions ranging from technology, business and commercial perspectives.
Among others, Animesh Kejriwal of Parksons Graphics asked a question related to scheduling of jobs. A K Mathur of Thomson Press raised a query, whether the quotation module can generate multiple versions of estimate against an enquiry and then selecting one of them to quote etc.
Infor is one of the world’s largest provider of multi-domain enterprise application solution, launched their printing and publishing for general availability in mid-2012 and includes several unique features as “The Printing Estimating Workbench”, which takes every miniscule factor (weight of the paper, the length, the width, the number of sections, the number of holes, die cutting etc) into account to build a routing and bill of material for an estimate print job to the extent of even ink and oil requirements.
The webinar was hosted on 29 August, 2013 from 3pm to 4.30pm.
Looking at the overwhelming response from the industry, Infor and PrintWeek India will be hosting one more session for packaging converters, soon. If you've any query, please email Priya Iyer, national sales manager. eMail id is:priyaiyer@haymarket.co.in
