PrintPromotion gave an award to its specialist teacher course, Kiran Prayagi from Mumbai, India. He won first prize in the competition “My experiences with PrintPromotion” for a photo report about his training trip to Germany.
The prize was also presented to Brazilian Manoel Manteigas de Oliveira.
“The German printing machinery industry relies on its machines being professionally operated all over the world. Mr Manteigas has for decades advocated that the printing industry in Brazil recruits suitable young professionals and trains them too,” said Markus Heering, director of PrintPromotion.
Manteigas has been head since 1996 of the Theobaldo De Nigris school in São Paulo, which is now the largest college for printing technology in South America. Kai Büntemeyer, chairman of the VDMA’s (German Engineering Federation’s) Association for Print and Paper Technology, presented the prize.
PrintPromotion involves German companies working together to support apprenticeships and in-service training in the printing industry.
