PrintPack Arabia 2016 will take place from 22 to 25 February at Sharjah Exhibition Ground, Sharjah. And PrintPack India 2017 will be organised at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida from 11 to 15 February.

KS Khurana, president, IPAMA, said, “From 2013 to 2015, we have grown around 40% in terms of number of exhibtiors, visitors and net area of the exhibition. And this time our expectations are even higher, around 50%.”

Khurana emphasises on two things. He said that in the next edition of PrintPack India, each and every Indian manufacturer should display at least one new product and especially which is not manufactured in India. And he has also suggested that the printers create their own products and establish them as a brand.

Technology transfers is the major concern for Khurana, “Indian manufacturers have to make more machines in numbers and with better technology. We can learn new technologies in many ways through mergers, joint ventures, technology and tools outsourcing.”

In PrintPack India 2015, IPAMA claimed, exhibitors generated business of approximately Rs 1750 crores and serious business inquiries.

CP Paul, general secretary of IPAMA, said, “After the success of PrintPack India our confidence is high and we want to make it as successful as the PrintPack India 2015 was.”

"In the first edition of PrintPack Arabia, 30 of the 88 exhibitors were Indian manufacturers. In 2016, we are expecting more than 100 Indian exhibitors and a total number of exhibitors to be more than 150. In 2014, we had a net area of around 4000 sqm and this time we have 9000 sqm. Expectations for visitors are also double, around 10000, the number of total visitors in the last edition was 4000”, said, Naveen Fernandes, group exhibition manager, Expo Centre Sharjah.

“We found IPAMA a good partner. At the exhbition our focus will be packaging. We are joining hands with supporting industries like paper and inks. 2020 World Expo is one of the biggest exhibitions on the globe and cannot be completed without printing. It is an opportunity for us and we have to grab it. Qatar World Cup is also a big event for our industry,” he further added.

For PrintPack 2017 the target is 500+ exhibitors as compared to the 411, a net area of 25000 sqm as compared to 18,647 sqm and 1,20,000 visitors as compared to 85,000 in PrintPack 2015.

Paul shared, “This time we will not disappoint the packaging and label converters. The biggest benefit with the Indian machines is the after sale service. Indian manufacturers can provide quick and more economical after sale services.”

Fernandes said, Sharjah is a bridge between India, Europe and African countries. And there is no language barrier between India and Middle East. Printing market in Middle East has grown around 50% in last five years and worldwide13.6%.

PrintWeek India will be the official media partner for both the exhibitions.
