This is in addition to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certificate attained by IPP in 2012 to underscore commitment towards sustainable forestry.
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international, non-profit, non-government organisation which promotes sustainable forest management through independent third party certification. It is considered the certification system of choice for small forest owners. Its 35 worldwide independent national forest certification systems represent more than 240 million ha of certified forests, making it the largest forest certification system in the world, covering about two-thirds of the globally certified forest area. It is based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Rishabh Singhvi, the executive director at IPP, said, "PEFC and FSC certifications underscore IPP's lasting commitment to environmental sustainability. Our team works with the passion and belief that the environment needs to be treated with care. At the same time, building a responsive chain-of-custody is today an essential business requirement for both export and domestic markets. We expect relevant certifications to further augment our fast-growing exports to overseas markets."
